Fusion Triathlon Club are now affiliated to CTT (Cycling Time Trials).
We won’t be running our own series of time trials this season but instead we encourage you to take part in some of the CTT organised Time Trials. You can ride in any of the CTT events but the coaches will pick out some dates and try to get some mass participation from Fusion.
For those who are new to road riding or time trialling, we intend to run a couple of introductory sessions shortly. Watch this space for more info.
We do also still intend to hold our own club TT championship towards the end of the season. An announcement will be made on that fairly soon too.
Fusion affiliation to CTT means that you can register (no cost) to CTT and join in any of their Time Trial events, including our local Georgetown League.
CTT A and B events
CTT have A events, and B events. You can enter any of them.
For A events you need to register on the CTT website and then enter on-line. Most of the A events cost £8 – £10. You will find the list here: https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/find-events
B events are entered on the night. Just show up, pay and ride. I’m not sure where to find a list of all B events, however, one such B event is the Georgetown League, that runs almost every Wednesday night through the season.
The Georgetown League
The Georgetown League is a series of Time Trials on the popular Georgetown Road that we have used many times in training and also ran our own Time Trials on last year. The out and back course is approximately 7.5 miles long, and about as flat as you can get.
The schedule and results are posted on the Georgetown League Facebook Page To join in simply turn up on the night, pay £3 and sign on. Sing on is 6.15pm till 7pm.
Below is an excerpt from the Georgetown League Facebook Page as of 17/05/17 but please do please check the link for more recent updates.
Safe and happy Time Trialling everyone.
This years midweek Georgetown TT league will consist of 12 Events starting on Wednesday3rd May – 7:15pm
The missing dates on the calendar are either open events in the West or will be filled with Johnstone Whs 25TTs on the Lugton Road (to be confirmed)
There will be a slightly different system this year with each riders fastest 4 times over the series counting towards their final league standing. This will be updated each week so you can keep track of your progress.
