    Technical Development Session - 60 min - £4

    Novice / Improvers technical swim session – the ideal place to improve low level freestyle swimming or brush up your technique. Based on a rolling 20 week programme that works on swimming fundamentals.

    As a minimum for these sessions you will need to be able to swim 100m freestyle / front crawl with your face in the water. Doesn’t matter how quick or slow.

  • Week# 3 of 4 - Big week

    Monday 03 Dec 18 - Sunday 09 Dec 18 @ 

    Welcome to week 3. This is Big Week.

    All training sessions this week have the same focus as the previous two, but with increased volume and / or intensity. This will be the hardest week in the current cycle. Don't worry though as next week will be recovery week where your body will get a chance to rest and adapt to the training.

    Meet at Botanic Garden Front Gates. 60-75 min session - £2

    Focus is on running drills and base aerobic running with some strength components. All abilities a welcome. Run sessions involve no more than 20 mins straight running at any one time and routes will be such that nobody is left behind.

    Tuesday nights at Scotstoun we operate 4 lanes. Two lanes are for technical development and follow the same plan as the Allander Sunday session. Two lanes are set aside for training and will accommodate those who normally swim in lanes 1 to 4 in the other Scotstoun sessions

    Minimum entry to the training lanes 1 is to be able to swim 400m front crawl (face in water) in under 8:30

    Technical development is based on a rolling 20 week programme that works on swimming fundamentals.

    As a minimum for the technical development lanes you will need to be able to swim 100m freestyle / front crawl with your face in the water. Doesn’t matter how quick or slow.

    £4. Indoor cycle training through the winter months – developing all aspects of riding fitness, bike position and pedalling technique. Please bring your bike, a turbo trainer + towel or mat for the floor and run shoes for off the bike work at end of session.

    Welcome to week four, recovery week. You made it!

    This week is the last in the current cycle and sees a lower training load across all sessions. This gives your body a chance to recover and adapt to the training of the last three weeks.
